THE PLACES WE DON'T PLAN FOR
The best part of a trip isn't always the destination.
Sometimes it's the turn you weren't supposed to take.
A road that looked interesting.
A trail you didn't know was there.
A small lake hidden behind the trees.
A viewpoint you almost drove past.
You stop.
You look around.
And suddenly, the plan doesn't seem so important anymore.
TAKE THE WRONG TURN
We're taught to know where we're going.
Maps tell us the fastest route.
GPS tells us when to turn.
Schedules tell us when we'll arrive.
But the outdoors doesn't always work that way.
Sometimes the road gets narrower.
Sometimes the map stops being useful.
Sometimes you just keep going because the view ahead looks better than the one behind you.
NOT EVERYTHING NEEDS A DESTINATION
There's something satisfying about walking without knowing exactly where the trail ends.
You don't need to know how long it will take.
You don't need to know what's around the next corner.
You just keep moving.
One step.
Then another.
The forest gets quieter.
The air gets colder.
The view slowly opens up.
And eventually you realize that getting there was never really the point.
THE UNEXPECTED PLACES
Maybe that's why we remember certain days more than others.
Not because everything went according to plan.
Because it didn't.
The road was longer.
The weather changed.
The trail was harder than expected.
You stopped somewhere you had never heard of.
And somehow, those are the moments that stay with you.
LEAVE SOME ROOM FOR THE UNKNOWN
You don't have to plan every minute.
Leave a little space.
Take the longer road.
Follow the trail for another ten minutes.
Stop when something catches your attention.
Let the day surprise you.
Because sometimes the places you remember most are the ones you never intended to find.
THAT'S THE IDEA.
Not every journey needs a perfect plan.
Some of them just need somewhere to begin.
AL PROSPIRA
For the unexpected turns.
The roads that take longer.
The trails that weren't on the map.
And the places you weren't looking for.
